Time For Dinner and Dancing

Thursday March 21st

After farewelling Ryan, off with Maggie, Lynn and Lindsay yet again, we had enough time to quickly get changed and walk over to the Langley Banquet Centre for the dinner and dance evening. This was a chance for all the players, their host families and supporters to get together in a relaxed atmosphere away from the rink.

The players really let their hair down. There were glow sticks, hats, sunglasses and blow up musical instruments. Kids were hanging out and trading pins. Some of them, particularly the Southern Knights, never left the stage and carved up the dance floor with great moves all night.

We had a great time catching up with some of the other supporters and watching the kids have fun. Connor had a good time but got a little bored. Thankfully at about 9pm his host mother, Michelle, took Connor, Josh and Trey home to bed as I think all the hockey and the socialising are starting to catch up with them a little.

We stayed on and spent time with the other families. We had a really good night and thankfully made it home a little earlier than some of the previous nights. The trip is also starting to take a toll on the adults.
