After breakfast this morning we arranged to catch up with the Barker's for a coffee. We went for a short walk over to Tim Horton, which the Canadian/s describe as a licence to print money. It was really nice just to catch up and hear what has been happening for them since they left Australia and returned home to Canada. The time flew so fast and before we knew it it was time to head to the rink for Connor's game this afternoon against the Hudson Raiders, USA.
Ryan met us at the rink to watch Connor's game and frightened the life out of us when we saw his hair. We were so thankful to discover that in fact his hair hadn't changed but rather he was wearing a racoon hat. What worries me is that in not too many years to come I am sure that this will be Ryan's hair for real.
The 2011 Friendship Games was hosted in Hudson, Wisconsin and some of the same kids were here again. It was a very close, hard fought game. There were a couple more penalties this game; Hudson had one penalty called against them, while the Kangaroos had 2 penalties called against them. In this game we sustained a few injuries; one player had to sit on the bench for quite some time after a nasty trip that saw his body go in different directions, another player took a puck to the ankle, and a third was cut by a skate. Connor also took a puck to the back where he had no padding so was a bit sore. The pain of these injuries soon faded though with the team holding on to win 8 to 4. This is the team's 5th win which is fantastic!!!
