When we said our final goodbyes we jumped in the car and drove to Vancouver. Due to roadworks on Highway 1 West we did take a little detour before arriving at our hotel, Rosedale on Robson. Connor spent the entire drive looking at and talking about hockey cards and hockey players. Its wonderful to see that his love for hockey has just continued to grow as a part of this experience.
When we checked in we found that David's parents, and the Winklers had arrived a while before us. It was very cool to look across the road and see the quaint old coloured houses amongst the skyscrapers. The first thing that came to mind was the images from the movie "Up".
We went for a quick walk along Robson street and found somewhere to have a bite to eat for lunch. It was then time to unload the car and head out for some exploration. Ryan was then super keen to retrieve his voucher book and begin working out what he could cash in. We encouraged him to bring his voucher book and took a drive to Stanley Park where we visited the Totem Poles and the Prospect Point lookout. Connor bought himself a couple of souvenirs at the local shop and we went for a short hike along one of the trails before heading back into Vancouver.
After a rest in the hotel we went out for dinner in Yale Town with David's parents and Maggie. We had a lovely meal and then as tradition would dictate we had headed to the 711 to buy varying flavours of Ben and Jerry's ice cream for dessert. A great way to finish the day!!!
