When we could finally drag the kids away from trading at the rink we went to Jan and Michelle's house for a final dinner with them and the Winklers. We were so spoiled with Jan cooking up fresh Salmon and crab even though he can't stand them smell of seafood and doesn't eat fish himself. We really have been so fortunate to meet Jan, Michelle and their family and to have them welcome and embrace our whole family as part of the Friendship Games experience.
While Jan was busy preparing the fish and Michelle made salad and pasta David went out into the cul de sac and challenged the kids to a long awaited game of cricket. It may not be his native game but Darrien was a mean bowler and with his baseball arm rarely missed a direct hit on the stumps. They had a great time, only pulling up stumps when they had to concede it was finally too dark to see the ball anymore.
It certainly will be a tough morning tomorrow when Michelle brings Connor and Josh back to the hotel and we all have to say our final goodbyes.
